night because the landing gear wouldn't come down. the pilot remains remarkably calm. lindsay davis reports. >> inside the cabin, passengers with cellphones captured the announcement you never want to hear from a pilot. >> brace for impact. >> that was followed by this terrifying command from the flight attendant. >> heads down! heads down! stay down! >> as emergency crews arrived on the runway, the control tower gave this warning. 64 souls on board and 6,000 pounds of fuel. >> the pilot told the control tower. >> 51, roger. that will work. >> heads down! >> as the jet touched down, the right wing scraped the tarmac. sparks flew, clearly visible through the window but miraculously no fire. (applause) >> the passengers were surprisingly calm as they were evacuated. emergency crews stood at the ready but weren't necessary. >> i don't know. i'm just really happy to be here. >> sandra shot some of the cellphone pictures. he was still commending the pilot today. >> the pilot did the a wonderful job. just gotta put your life in their hands and hope for the best. >> heads down! heads down!
